Serhiy Kurchenko becomes president of FC Metalist Kharkiv
This is stipulated in a statement released by the club's press service, a UKRINFORM correspondent reported.
"Serhiy Kurchenko was elected the new president of the club at a general meeting of stockholders of PJSC FC Metalist on February 7. The new composition of the club's supervisory board was also formed," the press service reported.
Kurchenko said at the meeting that the club's task is to be among the leaders of Ukrainian football that are competing for the title of national champions.
"I really want to participate in the life of the club, and not remain just its owner. That is why I headed Metalist as its president. I'm planning to make every effort and provide sufficient funds for the development of our club, and I'm confident in its future success," he said.
As UKRINFORM reported, on December 24, 2012 Oleksandr Yaroslavsky resigned as president of the club and sold it to Kurchenko.
