New terminal at Donetsk Airport to be commissioned on May 14

KYIV, May 11 /UKRINFORM/. A new terminal at Donetsk International Airport will be commissioned on May 14, the press service of the Ukrainian Infrastructure Ministry has reported.

"A new terminal at the municipally-owned Donetsk International Airport enterprise will be commissioned on May 14," reads the statement.

The terminal has seven floors, and three of them are main ones. The terminal will handle 3,100 passengers per hour.

The terminal complex, which will be put into operation, apart from the terminal's building, also includes a bus station, a three-storey parking garage for 605 cars (31 parking lots for not mobile passengers), outdoor parking garages for 1,004 cars, and bus parking for 20 buses.

Accordingly, following the commissioning of a new terminal, according to the ministry, the airport will receive a full-scale aviation complex. As part of the reconstruction of the airport, except for the new terminal, a new artificial runway has been built - the best in Europe, capable of receiving any type of aircraft, including Boeing-747s and Airbus-380s. In addition, Ukraine's highest airport traffic control tower (52 meters) was also built in Donetsk.

The commissioning of these facilities will help the airport receive almost all types of aircraft under any weather conditions and provide services to the growing number of passengers.
