As of July 1, 2017, the international reserves of Ukraine amounted to USD 17.9 billion.

This was reported by the press service of the National Bank of Ukraine on Wednesday.

"As of July 1, 2017, the international reserves of Ukraine amounted to USD 17.9 billion (in equivalent), according to preliminary data. Thus, the reserves grew by 16% for the first half of 2017. In particular, the growth in June was 2%," the statement reads.

As noted, the favorable situation on foreign markets allowed the National Bank to continue buying currency to replenish international reserves without creating obstacles to strengthening of the hryvnia.
