Ukrinform
At present only 7% of garbage in Ukraine is recycled, while the remaining 93% could have become raw materials for the implementation of energy efficiency projects.

Mykhailo Gonchar, the President of the Centre for Global Studies "Strategy XXI", stated this at a press conference held in Ukrinform.

"Only 7% of garbage, which is being produced, is recycled in Ukraine. As to the remaining 93%, we can see this by the example of Lviv - this is a problem for all Ukraine. The world has already developed technologies for converting waste into energy, "said Gonchar.

He also noted that any energy saving and energy efficiency projects require financial investments, although there could be various ways of raising funds. Mykhailo Gonchar stressed that international financial institutions are interested in Ukraine today.
