USA interested in cooperation with Ukraine in gas, coal sectors

The U.S. Department of Energy is interested in cooperation with Ukraine in the fields of gas production and transportation and coal supply.
This has been reported by the press service of Naftogaz of Ukraine after the meeting between U.S. Secretary of Energy Rick Perry and CEO of Naftogaz Andriy Kobolev.
"Secretary Perry expressed interest in having the Department of Energy facilitate cooperation between U.S. and Ukrainian energy companies, specifically in upstream natural gas, natural gas transmission, and coal supply," the report said.
The parties also discussed the possibility of coal exports from the U.S. to Ukraine.
The U.S side noted the significant progress of Ukraine in reforming Naftogaz and the Ukrainian gas market since 2014, but stressed the importance of keeping up the pace of reforms which the Ukrainian government has committed to undertake.
