Verkhovna Rada ratifies agreement on Ukraine’s participation in COSME business program

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has passed the law on ratification of the agreement between the Government of Ukraine and the European Union on Ukraine's participation in the EU program "Competitiveness of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises” (COSME)  for 2014-2020.

226 MPs voted for the draft law, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

COSME is the EU program aimed at creating the favorable conditions for the development of small and medium-sized enterprises, implemented within the framework of the strategy "Europe 2020" and approved by the Regulations of the Council of the European Union No. 1287/2013 of December, 11, 2013. COSME program covers the period of 2014-2020 with a total budget of € 2.3 billion.

Ukraine's participation in the COSME program is defined in the European Agenda for Reform in Ukraine.
