EU calls for unblocking coal supplies from occupied Donbas

Ukrinform
The European Union notes the negative consequences of the railway blockade in Donbas for Ukrainian population.

This is stated in the commentary of the official representative of the European Union, available to an Ukrinform correspondent in Brussels.

"The blockade reduces the coal supplies from the occupied territories As a result, it could threaten the operation of power plants. This can lead to vast energy crisis in the country, which will affect Ukrainian citizens on both sides of the demarcation line," the commentary says.

As noted, the blockade of the railway communication between the government-controlled and militant-controlled territories contradicts the interests of the people, who have been long living in the uncontrolled territories.

"Those responsible for the blockade must cease their actions, and the government should solve the urgent problem," the EU states.
