Ukraine has accumulated 14.7 billion cubic meters of gas in its storage facilities and plans to import 1.3-1.4 billion cubic meters from the European Union in October. These volumes will be enough for the 2016-2017 heating season.
Andriy Kobolev, Chief Executive Officer of NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine said this in an interview with Channel 5, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“There is enough gas [in storages], we’ve pumped a little more than the initial plan of 14.5 billion cubic meters - 14.7 billion cubic meters. Ukraine currently buys gas only from European directions. And if we continue to buy it from the European direction, we believe it will be enough,” Kobolev said.
He also told that Ukraine imports record gas volumes from the EU.
“We expect that in October it will be 1.3-1.4 billion cubic meters. It will be enough for providing consumers with gas,” Kobolev noted.
