Ukraine, Denmark discuss further development of ‘Danish model’

Umerov stressed that the initiative, launched by Denmark, has already proven effective. According to him, in 2024, it provided the Ukrainian Armed Forces with €588 million worth of weapons.

“We aim for even greater results, and in 2025, Denmark is ready to expand its support by bringing in new partners and increasing contributions,” Umerov stated.

He further informed that the Danish model has already been joined by Sweden, Norway, Iceland, and Canada. Additionally, in 2024, the European Union allocated part of the profits from frozen Russian assets to finance Ukraine’s defense industry through this mechanism.

Umerov and Poulsen also discussed key areas of defense cooperation, including radars, drones, and electronic warfare systems.

“Another crucial aspect is the supply of spare parts for repairing provided platforms, ensuring that armored vehicles return to the battlefield much faster,” Ukraine’s minister added.

Umerov expressed gratitude to Denmark and its people for their unwavering support and constructive dialogue.

As reported by Ukrinform, Umerov recently visited the Netherlands, where he inspected an airbase training Ukrainian pilots on F-16 fighter jets.
