Zelensky delivers first batch of advanced Peklo missile-drones to AFU
An Ukrinform correspondent reports this.
This marks the first series of domestically produced missile-drones that have been delivered to the military and launched into serial production.
During the event, it was reported that there have already been five successful uses of the Peklo missile-drones.
The mentioned missile-drone has a strike range of 700 km and a speed of 700 km per hour.
For security reasons, other technical characteristics of the Ukrainian missile-drone and the number of units delivered were not disclosed. However, it is worth noting that the president previously stated that this is a fundamentally new type of weaponry.
Event participants also emphasized that, in terms of effectiveness, the Ukrainian missile-drones are comparable to certain types of Russian cruise missiles, yet are significantly cheaper.
In addition to the President, the event was attended by Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi, Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov, Minister for Strategic Industries Herman Smetanin, Deputy Minister for Strategic Industries Anna Hvozdiar, and Presidential Advisor for Strategic Affairs Oleksandr Kamyshin.
As reported by Ukrinform, Ukrainian manufacturers have already produced the first 100 missiles this year and successfully scaled the serial production of the R-360 Neptune cruise missiles.
