The Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Valeriy Zaluzhny, and the Chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Mark Milley, have discussed the liberation of Ukrainian territory within internationally recognized borders.

According to Ukrinform, Zaluzhny said this in a Telegram post.

"In today's phone call with the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the United States, General Mark Milley, we discussed the issue of the implementation of the strategic tasks of the Defense Forces of Ukraine, the main of which is the liberation of Ukrainian lands within internationally recognized borders. An important condition for the success of our defensive and counter-offensive actions is the provision of appropriate material and technical resources," Zaluzhny said.

He added that Ukraine continues to count on further help from partners.

General Milley, in turn, conveyed the assurances of U.S. President Joe Biden and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin that the United States will support Ukraine as long as necessary. Milley also noted that he is proud of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the Ukrainian people, Zaluzhny said.

Earlier reports said that the U.S. Department of Defense is selecting the most effective means of strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities from more than 1,000 proposals from U.S. arms manufacturers.
