Ukraine’s defense chief says setting up cyber forces to become essential

The Ministry of Defense, together with the General Staff of the Armed Forces, is working out the structure of Ukraine’s future cyber forces and preparing a relevant bill to establish them.

That’s according to Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov who spoke at a Q&A session in the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine’s parliament, on Friday, December 3, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"There is a clear plan for the creation of cyber troops. I discussed assistance during all my visits and meetings. Cyber threats are also cited as one of the top five threats coming from our unfriendly neighbor. And today, as it is among the components of our Armed Forces, I am working on its structure together with the Commander-in-Chief and the General Staff, and we’re set to come up with a draft of the relevant legislative regulation," Reznikov said.
