In some areas, Turkish and Ukrainian military industries complement each other in a very competitive way.

"There are areas in which Turkish and Ukrainian military industries complement each other. In a very competitive way, so to speak," Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to Ukraine Yağmur Ahmet Güldere said in an interview with the KyivNotKiev project.

According to him, Ankara and Kyiv are looking for opportunities to jointly produce some equipment.

"I am glad to see that our cooperation is not limited to procurement. Turkey sells defense goods to Ukraine. Ukraine sells defense goods to Turkey. We are looking for opportunities for joint production of some equipment, we are even looking for opportunities for joint design," the Ambassador said.

He added that Turkey's cooperation with Ukraine also allowed for the export of joint products to third countries.

As reported, during his visit to Turkey in April, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky met with President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to discuss the situation in eastern Ukraine, the Crimean Platform initiative, and bilateral cooperation.
