Ukroboronprom states that NATO will help reform the state concern.

“The issues of support and assistance of the North Atlantic Alliance in the implementation of Ukroboronprom’s reform and Ukraine’s approval of the Defense Industry Development Strategy were discussed at an online meeting between the concern’s management, Head of NATO Liaison Office in Ukraine Alexander Vinnikov and representatives of NATO Headquarters,” the press service of the State Concern “Ukroboronprom” informs.

Ukroboronprom’s Director General Yuriy Husev briefed on the pace of the defense industry complex based on the principles of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development: transparence, openness, accountability proper administration.

“Ukroboronprom intends to introduce new world developments, to modernize research, development and production capacities of member enterprises, as well as to create favorable environment for technology transfer. This will become possible after the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopts draft law No. 3822, which is currently under consideration by the Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence before the second reading. Meanwhile, within the preparation for corporatization, we initiated a scientific-practical conference on innovations in the defense-industrial complex of Ukraine in June this year,” Husev said.

Concern’s First Deputy Director General Roman Bodnar offered the NATO Liaison Office an idea to hold a hackathon among weapon and military hardware manufacturers in order to develop artificial intelligence and machine learning for manufacturing new samples.
