Spring conscription campaign begins in Ukraine

Under the President’s decree, spring conscription campaign will last until June.

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, 14,246 people will be conscripted into to the Armed Forces and other military formations of Ukraine. In particular, 6,500 people will join the Armed Forces of Ukraine, 600 people - the State Special Transport Service, 4,646 people - the National Guard, 2,500 people - the State Border Guard Service.

According to the General Staff, this year the number of conscripts have been reduced due to the increase in the number of contract servicepersons in order to prevent exceeding the size limits of the Armed Forces.

As reported by Ukrinform, 9,000 people were conscripted for military service into the Armed Forces and other military formations of Ukraine in May-July 2020 and 7,500 people in October-December 2020.
