U.S. Navy guided-missile cruiser Monterey and destroyer Thomas Hudner have entered the Black Sea, the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine reports on Twitter.
"USS Monterey and USS Thomas Hudner w/ P-8As in action in the Black Sea to participate in Romanian-led exercise Sea Shield 2021 to enhance interoperability between Allies and partners in the region," the tweet reads.
As reported, from March 19 to March 29, NATO's Sea Shield 2021 naval exercises are held in the Black Sea. More than 2,000 servicemen from eight countries, 18 warships and 10 aircraft are taking part in the exercises.
