Donbas restoration costs USD 21B – Reznikov

Vice Prime Minister - Minister for Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov said this during an open discussion of the draft National Economic Strategy until 2030 entitled “Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine,” an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“According to the calculations of experts of the Center for Economic Strategies, losses in Donetsk and Luhansk regions alone amount to UAH 375 billion, and this is without taking into account the value of assets located in the occupied territories,” he said.

In addition, Reznikov added that according to the Vienna International Institute, the cost of restoring Donetsk and Luhansk regions exceeds USD 21 billion.

As Ukrinform reported, on January 11, 2021, the Ministry for Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine published the text of the draft law "On the State Policy in Transition" for review and asked people to send their comments and suggestions.
