Ukraine, India to step up defense and technical cooperation – Taran
This cooperation was agreed at the Aero India 2021 international aerospace and defense exhibition held in the Indian city of Bangalore on February 3-7, 2021.
"Minister of Defense of Ukraine Andrii Taran met with Minister of Defense of India Rajnath Singh, as well as the commanders of the Land Forces and the Naval Forces of the Republic of India. The current state of bilateral cooperation and further steps of cooperation in the military and technical sector were discussed. The parties expressed mutual interest and readiness to intensify relations in a wide range of military cooperation," the report reads.
Taran stressed that an important step had been taken to deepen military and military-technical cooperation with India. "The meeting with the Indian colleague was constructive and substantive. Our presence here is both a confirmation of friendly relations between the states and a clear intention regarding the prospects for further cooperation," he said.
The interlocutors discussed, in particular, issues of training and education of servicemen under the exchange program in higher military educational institutions and units of the two states.
In addition, Taran invited the Indian side to take part in the multinational military exercises taking place on the territory of Ukraine, in particular, in the Sea Breeze 2021 multinational exercise this year.
Andrii Taran invited Rajnath Singh to pay a visit to Ukraine.
