Invaders violate ceasefire in Donbas eight times

Over the past day, January 7, eight ceasefire violations were recorded in the Joint Forces Operation area in eastern Ukraine.

"In the area of ​​responsibility of the operational and tactical group ‘North’, the armed formations of the Russian Federation opened fire from mounted anti-tank and automatic grenade launchers and heavy machine guns near Luhanske (59km north-east of Donetsk); anti-tank grenade launchers – in the area of Khutir Vilny; and grenade launchers of various systems and small arms – in the suburbs of Popasna (69km west of Luhansk)," the press center of the JFO Headquarters reports.

In addition, in the area of responsibility of the operational and tactical group ‘East’, the enemy fired grenade launchers of various systems and small arms on Ukrainian positions near Vodiane (94km south of Donetsk); a hand-held anti-tank grenade launcher – outside Avdiivka (17km north of Donetsk); and an automatic easel grenade launcher and a heavy machine gun – near Hranitne (60km south of Donetsk).

The OSCE representatives were informed about all the facts of the ceasefire violations through the Ukrainian side of the JCCC.

Ukrainian defenders opened fire in response to the shelling of the armed formations of the Russian Federation. No casualties among Ukrainian servicepersons were reported.

Today, January 8, four violations of the ceasefire regime have been recorded. The enemy opened fire from 120mm mortars, grenade launchers of various systems, and a heavy machine gun in the area of Vodiane.

Ukrainian soldiers opened fire in response to the enemy shelling. Ukrainian troops sustained no casualties.

"The situation in the Joint Forces Operation area remains controlled by Ukrainian soldiers," the report said.

In addition, on January 7, representatives of the National Police of the Joint Forces recorded 65 administrative offenses. The police inspected 4,385 vehicles and 4,909 people.

Over the past day, 407 people crossed the Stanytsia Luhanska entry-exit checkpoint into the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine, and 332 people arrived in the government-controlled territory.
