Ukraine's Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Strategic Industries Oleh Urusky has discussed the development of public-private partnership and military-technical cooperation during his visit to the League of Defense Companies of Ukraine, a non-governmental organization of arms and military equipment manufacturers.

The official wrote this on his Facebook page.

"While visiting the league's enterprise, NGO Practika, I got acquainted with the armored vehicle Kozak-2M and the process of its production, as well as other products made by enterprises from this association of manufacturers. During the visit, we talked to manufacturers and discussed production activities, the development of military-technical cooperation and public-private partnership, as well as joint ways to solve current problems," Urusky said.

According to him, private and state producers have common problems, and their settlement is important for the further effective functioning of Ukraine's defense industry.

Urusky also expressed hope for the prompt adoption by the parliament of the law "On the peculiarities of reforming the state-owned enterprises of the defense industry."

Separately, he noted that in 2021 it is planned to create a defense technology agency. It will contribute to the creation of promising models of weapons and military equipment.

"In general, an agreement has been reached to combine efforts to improve the current legislation and create appropriate conditions and uniform rules of the game for both public and private companies in order to conduct efficient production and trade activities," Urusky said.

As was reported earlier, the Cabinet of Ministers formed a new government agency - the Ministry for Strategic Industries, headed by Urusky, on July 22, 2020. The ministry had 60 employees as of December.
