OSCE SMM records more ceasefire violations in Donetsk region

The OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine (SMM) has recorded more ceasefire violations in Donetsk region and fewer in Luhansk region, according to a daily report published by the OSCE SMM on July 23.

“Compared with the previous reporting period, the SMM recorded more ceasefire violations in Donetsk region and fewer in Luhansk region,” reads the report.

According to the report, the Mission continued monitoring the disengagement areas near Stanytsia Luhanska, Zolote and Petrivske. In particular, during evening and night hours, it saw people within former positions inside the latter two areas.

In addition, the OSCE Mission facilitated and monitored adherence to localized ceasefires to enable repairs to and maintenance of critical civilian infrastructure.

“The SMM’s freedom of movement continued to be restricted, including at a checkpoint near non-government-controlled Kreminets, Donetsk region,” the OSCE added.

As reported by Ukrinform, on July 23, the armed formations of the Russian Federation violated ceasefire in the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) area in Donbas eight times.
