OSCE records more ceasefire violations in Donbas over weekend – report

Between the evenings of July 17 and July 19, the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine (SMM) recorded more ceasefire violations in both Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

“In Donetsk region, between the evenings of 17 and 18 July, the SMM recorded more ceasefire violations, including, however, fewer explosions (about 120), compared with the previous reporting period (about 155 explosions),” reads the daily report of the OSCE SMM to Ukraine issued on July 20.

The majority of ceasefire violations, including the majority of explosions, were recorded in areas east-south-east, south-east and south-south-west of Svitlodarsk (government-controlled, 57km north-east of Donetsk) and north-east of Hnutove (government-controlled, 90km south of Donetsk).

Between the evenings of 18 and 19 July, the Mission recorded more ceasefire violations, including more explosions (about 600), compared with the previous 24 hours. The majority of ceasefire violations, including the majority of explosions, were recorded in areas east, eastsouth-east and south-east of Svitlodarsk.

“In Luhansk region, between the evenings of 17 and 18 July, the SMM recorded more ceasefire violations, including, however, fewer explosions (about 30), compared with the previous reporting period (about 55 explosions),” the report notes.

The majority of ceasefire violations, including almost all explosions, were recorded in areas east and south of the disengagement area near Zolote (government-controlled, 60km west of Luhansk).
