SMM records increase in number of explosions in Donbas – report
The OSCE SMM said this in a report issued on May 1, based on information from the monitoring teams received as of 19:30 on April 30, 2020.
"In Donetsk region, the SMM recorded more ceasefire violations, including more explosions (about 215), compared with the previous reporting period (about 25 explosions)," the report says.
The majority of ceasefire violations, including the majority of explosions, were recorded in south-easterly directions of Chermalyk (government-controlled, 77km south of Donetsk), in areas within a 5km radius from the Donetsk Filtration Station (DFS) (15km north of Donetsk) and south-east of Hnutove (government-controlled, 90km south of Donetsk), where it recorded about 25 outgoing explosions and their subsequent impacts.
“In Luhansk region, the Mission recorded fewer ceasefire violations, including, however, more explosions (about 45), compared with the previous reporting period (ten explosions),” the report states.
The majority of ceasefire violations, including the majority of explosions, were recorded in areas east, south-east and south of Popasna (government-controlled, 69km west of Luhansk), in south-east of Muratove (government-controlled, 51km north-west of Luhansk) and north-east of the disengagement area near Zolote (government-controlled, 60km west of Luhansk).
