Ukrainian Defense Minister Andriy Taran said this in a greeting on the occasion of the 71st anniversary of the formation of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, according to the website of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry.
"Our present and future is Euro-Atlantic integration and consistent defense reform in Ukraine according to NATO standards. It will help strengthen our combat readiness and interoperability with the Alliance's troops to protect national interests and ensure stability in the region," the Ukrainian minister said.
He said that Ukraine will continue to follow this path "with our friends - all NATO countries - to achieve the strategic goal of Ukraine, which is enshrined in the Constitution of the state."
According to Taran, the uniqueness of this security organization is that its formation is based on the principles of the rule of law and human rights.
"For Ukraine, the history of relations with NATO is a path of distinctive and mutually beneficial partnership, which we sincerely appreciate," the minister said.
