The UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission recorded 16 civilian casualties in eastern Ukraine from March 1 to March 22, the mission’s press service wrote on Facebook page.

“From 1 to 22 March, OHCHR recorded 16 civilian casualties: 1 killed and 15 injured. Several cases are still pending corroboration. Even though March is not over yet, this is already the highest monthly civilian casualties figures since September 2019,” reads the statement.

The mission has called on the parties involved in the hostilities in eastern Ukraine “to silence the weapons and stop fighting”.

“The call is even more urgent as we registered an increase in number of civilian casualties in eastern Ukraine,” reads the statement.
