Ukrinform
The OSCE Special Monitoring Mission (SMM) to Ukraine has recorded that workers from non-government controlled areas are installing new railings on the railway bridge over the Siverskyi Donets, which is located near the recently reconstructed bridge in Stanytsia Luhanska, according to a daily report published by the OSCE SMM on November 25.

“On 23 November, inside the disengagement area near Stanytsia Luhanska (government controlled, 16km north-east of Luhansk), the SMM saw three workers from non-government controlled areas installing new railings on the railway bridge, about 500m east-north east of the Stanytsia Luhanska bridge (15km north-east of Luhansk),” reads the report.

Also, on November 23 and 24, the Mission saw “at least three members of the armed formations (wearing armbands with “JCCC” written on them) between the newly constructed section of the bridge and the checkpoint of the armed formations south of the bridge”.

On the same days, the Mission also saw four workers from government-controlled areas installing two metal detectors at the entry-exit checkpoint (EECP) north of the Stanytsia Luhanska bridge.

As Ukrinform reported, on September 2, President Volodymyr Zelensky announced the beginning of reconstruction of the destroyed bridge in Stanytsia Luhanska after the Ukrainian side dismantled the last fortification facility in the area of the Stanytsia Luhanska entry and exit checkpoint.

On November 20, Zelensky opened the renewed bridge over the Siverskyi Donets in Stanytsia Luhanska.

The reconstruction works on the bridge in Stanytsia Luhanska is part of Ukraine’s international obligations to improve the humanitarian situation on the contact line.
