Ukraine-U.S. bilateral defense consultations start in Kyiv – Defense Ministry

“The main purpose of the consultations is to discuss the development of Ukrainian-United States military cooperation. In particular, the issue of security situation in and around Ukraine is on the agenda. It is planned to acquaint the American side with the current challenges in eastern Ukraine and tendencies of the security situation development, including in the Black Sea region,” reads the report.

The consultations will also focus on discussions of reforms in the Ukrainian defense sector: the implementation of the National Security Law in the area of strengthening civilian-democratic control and parliamentary oversight, transformation of the defense department and defense force management system, capacity planning, development strategies of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
