Militants continue restricting work of OSCE mission in Donbas

The OSCE SMM stated this in its latest report released on October 15.

“At a checkpoint west of Bezimenne (non-government-controlled, 100km south of Donetsk), two armed members of the armed formations denied the SMM passage citing “orders from superiors”. While at the checkpoint, the SMM did not see any vehicular traffic entering or exiting through the said checkpoint,” reads the report.

Also, at a checkpoint north of Zaichenko (non-government-controlled, 93km south of Donetsk), two armed members of the armed formations again prevented the SMM from proceeding towards Sakhanka (non-government-controlled, 97km south of Donetsk), citing “ongoing kinetic activities in the area and the safety of the patrol”.

The OSCE mission also reported that at a checkpoint on the northern edge of Novoazovsk (non-government-controlled, 102km south-east of Donetsk), “two armed members of the armed formations again denied the SMM access south towards Novoazovsk, citing an ongoing operation in the area”.

“At the border crossing point near Izvaryne (non-government-controlled, 52km southeast Luhansk), a member of the armed formations told the SMM to leave the area,” reads the report.

In addition, there was a delay at a checkpoint on the northern edge of Petrivske (non-government-controlled, 41km south of Donetsk), where a member of the armed formations allowed the SMM to proceed only after about 20 minutes of waiting.
