OSCE records increase in explosions in eastern Ukraine

The OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine recorded 280 explosions in Donetsk region and no explosions in Luhansk region on Wednesday, September 18.

The OSCE SMM informed this in a report, based on information received as of 19:30, September 18, 2019.

"In Donetsk region, the SMM recorded more ceasefire violations, including more explosions (about 280), compared with the previous reporting period (about 55 explosions)," the report says.

The majority of ceasefire violations, including the majority of explosions, were recorded at southerly directions of Svitlodarsk (government-controlled, 57km north-east of Donetsk), areas west of Yasynuvata (non-government-controlled, 16km north-east of Donetsk), and areas west and west-south-west of Horlivka (non-government-controlled, 39km north-east of Donetsk).

"In Luhansk region, for the second consecutive day, the SMM recorded no ceasefire violations during the reporting period," the report notes.
