The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) will provide residents of 52 populated areas along the contact line in Donbas with humanitarian assistance worth USD 1 million, according to the UN News Centre.

“Having no means of living, people are forced to buy food on credit; they cannot go to a doctor, and some persons in desperation start begging,” the report says.

The Food and Agriculture Organization recalls that many families in the gray zone were left without livelihoods. The FAO will provide USD 1 million in aid and teach the residents of 52 populated areas in Donbas to properly manage it.

As Ukrinform reported, in February 2019, the United Nations established the Ukraine Humanitarian Pooled Fund and called on the donors to join it to help the residents of Donbas, who are suffering from the armed conflict.
