A cease-fire should be the first step to resolving the situation in Donbas.

OSCE Chairperson-in-Office and Slovakia's Foreign and European Affairs Minister Miroslav Lajčák said this at a joint briefing with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin in Kyiv on Thursday.

"Among the activities are repair works in Stanytsia Luhanska, protection of civilian infrastructure, humanitarian mine clearance, opening of additional checkpoints, exchange of detainees, and the resumption of passenger traffic across the contact line," he said.

The OSCE Chairperson-in-Office stressed that a cease-fire should be the first step towards resolving the situation in Donbas.

“Unfortunately, since my first visit to Ukraine in January, little has changed on both sides of the contact line,” Lajčák said.
