Financing of Ukraine’s defense industry significantly increases for two years – Kubiv

First Vice Prime Minister - Economic Development and Trade Minister of Ukraine Stepan Kubiv said this during an Hour of Questions to the Government in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“For three years, we have managed to restore the production of the military-industrial complex. Since 2014, to ensure the country's defense capacity, about 26,000 units of weapons and military equipment of Ukrainian production have been transferred to defense and law enforcement agencies – 7,000 of them are completely new and modernized,” Kubiv said.

He recalled that the financing of the defense industry had increased from UAH 30 million in 2016 to UAH 3.2 billion in 2018.

“Thanks to these funds, the defense industry enterprises have introduced about 200 developments of advanced weapons and military equipment for three years,” Kubiv stressed.
