Invaders fire banned weapons in Donbas six times, one Ukrainian soldier wounded

The armed formations of the Russian Federation violated ceasefire 11 times in the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) area in Donbas over the past day.

“The enemy used weapons banned under the Minsk agreements – 152mm artillery systems, 120mm and 82mm mortars – and grenade launchers of different systems, heavy machine guns and small arms to launch attacks on Ukrainian defenders,” the press center of the JFO Headquarters reports.

In the zone of action of tactical force “East”, Russian-led forces opened fire from 152mm artillery systems and 120mm mortars on Ukrainian troops near Shyrokyne (20km east of Mariupol); 120mm and 82mm mortars, grenade launchers of different systems, heavy machine guns and small arms – outside Pyshchevyk (25km north-east of Mariupol); 120mm mortars – in the area of Avdiivka (17km north of Donetsk), Marinka (23km south-west of Donetsk) and Lebedynske (16km east of Mariupol); mounted antitank grenade launchers – near Kamyanka (62km south of Donetsk) and Vodiane (94km south of Donetsk); heavy machine guns – outside Pavlopol (25km north-west of Mariupol); small arms – in the area of Chermalyk (31km north-east of Mariupol).

In the zone of action of tactical force “North”, Russian-led forces used 120mm and 82mm mortars, grenade launchers of different systems and heavy machine guns to shell Ukrainian positions near Popasna (69km west of Luhansk); grenade launchers of different systems and small arms – outside Zalizne (42km north-east of Donetsk).

One Ukrainian soldier was wounded. The Joint Forces adequately returned fire in response to the enemy’s shooting. According to intelligence, three invaders were annihilated and one more was wounded on May 28.

Today, the enemy has already opened fire from 82mm mortars near Pisky (11km north-west of Donetsk); mounted antitank grenade launchers and heavy machine guns – outside Marinka; hand-held grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms – near Hnutove (20km north-east of Mariupol). No casualties among Ukrainian troops have been reported.
