Russian-led forces launch 11 attacks on Ukrainian troops in Donbas

The armed formations of the Russian Federation violated ceasefire eleven times, using weapons banned under the Minsk agreements once, in the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) area in Donbas over the past day.

“The enemy used 120mm and 82mm mortars, antitank missile systems, grenade launchers of different systems, heavy machine guns and small arms to launch attacks on Ukrainian defenders,” the press center of the JFO Headquarters reports.

In the zone of action of tactical force “East”, Russian-led forces opened fire from antitank missile systems on Ukrainian troops near Mykolaivka (77km west of Luhansk) and Pisky (11km north-west of Donetsk); mounted antitank grenade launchers and heavy machine guns – outside Pavlopol (25km north-west of Mariupol); mounted antitank grenade launchers and small arms – in the area of Starohnativka (51km south of Donetsk) and Chermalyk (31km north-east of Mariupol); mounted antitank grenade launchers – near Opytne (12km north-west of Donetsk); automatic mounted grenade launchers – outside Pyshchevyk (25km north-east of Mariupol); grenade launchers of different systems and small arms – in the area of Avdiivka (17km north of Donetsk).

In the zone of action of tactical force “North”, the enemy used 120mm and 82mm mortars and heavy machine guns to shell Ukrainian positions near Zolote-4 (59km west of Luhansk).

One Ukrainian soldier was wounded in shelling. The Joint Forces adequately returned fire in response to the enemy’s shooting.

According to intelligence, two invaders were annihilated and one more was wounded on May 23.

Today, the enemy has already opened fire from 82mm mortars near Novotroitske (36km south-west of Donetsk); automatic mounted grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms – outside Lebedynske (16km east of Mariupol); mounted antitank grenade launchers and small arms – in the area of Hnutove (20km north-east of Mariupol). No casualties among Ukrainian troops have been reported.
