Russian-led forces launch 14 attacks on Ukrainian troops in Donbas

On May 9, the armed formations of the Russian Federation violated ceasefire 14 times, using the weapons banned under the Minsk agreements twice, in the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) area in Donbas.

“The enemy used 120mm mortars, weapons on infantry fighting vehicles, heavy machine guns, grenade launchers of different systems and small arms to shell Ukrainian defenders,” the press center of the JFO Headquarters reports.

In the zone of action of tactical force “East”, Russian-led forces opened fire from 120 mm mortars, heavy machine guns, grenade launchers of different systems and small arms on Ukrainian troops near Pyshchevyk (25km north-east of Mariupol); 120 mm mortars and heavy machine guns – outside Opytne (12km north-west of Donetsk); grenade launchers of different systems and small arms – in the area of Avdiivka (17km north of Donetsk) and Bohdanivka (41km south-west of Donetsk); automatic mounted grenade launchers – near Chermalyk (31km north-east of Mariupol); hand-held antitank grenade launchers and small arms – outside Novoselivka (16km west of Luhansk); small arms – near Starohnativka (51km south of Donetsk).

In the zone of action of tactical force “North”, the enemy used weapons on infantry fighting vehicles to shell Ukrainian positions near Novozvanivka (70km west of Luhansk); heavy machine guns and small arms — outside Svitlodarsk (57km north-east of Donetsk).

One serviceman of the Joint Forces was wounded in shelling. The Joint Forces units adequately returned fire in response to the enemy shooting.

According to the intelligence, one invader was wounded on May 9.

Today, the enemy has not opened fire yet.

The Joint Forces reliably control the enemy on the contact line, adhering to ceasefire agreements.
