President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has honored the memory of seven Ukrainian servicemen, who died near Novoselivka village in Donetsk region in 2014.
The laying of flowers at the monument to the defenders of the 10th checkpoint was livestreamed on President’s Facebook page.
“Here, in the steppes of Donetsk region, five years ago, Ukraine lost seven its sons at once for the first time since the beginning of the Russian aggression. May the memory of the heroes live forever!” the publication reads.
It was against the defenders of the 10th checkpoint that the enemy used heavy armored vehicles for the first time. In July 2014, seven soldiers of the 93rd separate mechanized brigade died near Novoselivka.
