Russian-led forces launch 11 attacks on Ukrainian troops in Donbas

On May 5, the armed formations of the Russian Federation violated ceasefire 11 times in the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) area in Donbas, using the weapons banned under the Minsk agreements twice.

“The enemy used 120mm mortars, weapons on infantry fighting vehicles, antitank missile systems, grenade launchers of different systems, heavy machine guns, and small arms to shell Ukrainian defenders,” the press center of the JFO Headquarters reports.

In the zone of action of tactical force “East”, Russian-led forces opened fire from 120mm mortars on Ukrainian troops near Avdiivka (17km north of Donetsk); hand-held grenade launchers, heavy machine guns, and small arms – outside Pavlopol (25km north-west of Mariupol) and Talakivka (17km north-east of Mariupol); automatic mounted grenade launchers, heavy machine guns, and small arms – in the area of Lebedynske (16km east of Mariupol); grenade launchers of different systems, heavy machine guns, and small arms – near Bohdanivka (41km south-west of Donetsk); automatic mounted grenade launchers and small arms – near Pyshchevyk (25km north-east of Mariupol).

In the zone of action of tactical force “North”, the enemy used 120mm mortars to shell Ukrainian positions near Novozvanivka (70km west of Luhansk); weapons on infantry fighting vehicles and grenade launchers of different systems – outside Novooleksandrivka (65km west of Luhansk); antitank missile systems – in the area of Krymske (42km north-west of Luhansk).

No casualties among Ukrainian troops were reported. The Joint Forces units returned fire adequately in response to enemy shooting. According to the intelligence, one invader was annihilated and five more were wounded over the past day.

Today, the enemy has not opened fire yet.

The Joint Forces reliably control the enemy on the contact line, adhering to the ceasefire.
