Russian-led forces violate ceasefire in Donbas 15 times

Ukrinform
Russian occupation forces violated ceasefire 15 times, using weapons banned under the Minsk agreements four times, in the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) area in Donbas over the past day.

“The enemy fired 120mm and 82mm mortars, weapons on infantry fighting vehicles, grenade launchers of different systems, heavy machine guns, and small arms on the units of the Joint Forces,” the press center of the Joint Forces Headquarters reports.

As noted, the armed formations of the Russian Federation again resort to the tactics of the use of roving battery. Thus, conducting mortar trainings yesterday, the enemy shelled Ukrainian positions near Novoluhanske (53km north-east of Donetsk) from 82mm mortars and near Avdiivka (17km north of Donetsk) from 120mm mortars, hiding behind the civilians of Dolomitne, Yakovlivka and Mineralne villages. The casualties among local population were prevented only thanks to the principled position of the Joint Forces not to return fire if it could harm Ukrainian civilians.

In the zone of action of tactical force “East”, Russian-led forces opened fire from 82mm and 120mm mortars on Ukrainian troops near Avdiivka; 82mm mortars, automatic mounted grenade launchers and heavy machine guns – outside Novotroitske (36km south-west of Donetsk); weapons on infantry fighting vehicles and heavy machine guns – in the area of Hnutove (20km north-east of Mariupol); grenade launchers of different systems and heavy machine guns – near Marinka (23km south-west of Donetsk); hand-held antitank grenade launchers and heavy machine guns – outside Lebedynske (16km east of Mariupol); automatic mounted grenade launchers – in the area of Shyrokyne (20km east of Mariupol) and Pyshchevyk (25km north-east of Mariupol); grenade launchers of different systems and heavy machine guns – near Pavlopol (25km north-west of Mariupol).

In the zone of action of tactical force “North”, the enemy used 82mm mortars and weapons on infantry fighting vehicles to shell Ukrainian positions near Novoluhanske (53km north-east of Donetsk); automatic mounted grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms – in the area of Novozvanivka (70km west of Luhansk) and Luhanske (59km north-east of Donetsk).

Three Ukrainian servicemen were wounded in shelling.

According to the intelligence, nine invaders were wounded on May 2.

Today, the enemy has already opened fire from 120mm and 82mm mortars, automatic mounted grenade launchers and heavy machine guns on Ukrainian troops near Novotroitske (36km south-west of Donetsk) and Berezove (31km south-west of Donetsk); from heavy machine guns and small arms – outside Pyshchevyk (25km north-east of Mariupol).

No casualties among Ukrainian troops have been reported. The units of the Joint Forces adequately returned fire in response to the enemy shooting.

The Joint Forces reliably control the enemy on the contact line, adhering to the ceasefire agreements.
