Defense Minister of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak posted this on Facebook, informing about his meeting with Danish Minister of Defence Claus Hjort Frederiksen.
"Ukraine enforces its right to free and independent choice of its own way of development under difficult conditions of Russian aggression. There are no trends towards improving the military and political situation in Ukraine as Russia continues to build up its military groups near the borders of Ukraine. Therefore, main Ukraine’s task now is to increase the capabilities of the Armed Forces and to implement defense reform. The Parliament of Ukraine approved the amendments to the Constitution, which enshrine the country's path of integration into the European Union and NATO," the Ukrainian minister stressed.
Poltorak also emphasized that Ukraine expects its foreign partners to continue and step up political and sanction pressure on the aggressor country and increase the presence of forces and equipment of the Alliance both in the territory of Ukraine and the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov region, as well as to assist in building up the capabilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, primarily, in the field of military and technical cooperation.
Ukraine relies on systematic decisions of the international partners to support its accession to NATO, minister Poltorak added.
