Russian-led forces launch 13 attacks on Ukrainian troops in Donbas

Russian occupation forces launched 13 attacks, using weapons banned under the Minsk agreements seven times, on positions of Ukrainian troops in the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) area in Donbas over the past day.

The enemy fired 40 122mm artillery shells and 31 82mm mortars into Ukrainian troops. In addition, the illegal armed formations fired antitank missile systems, grenade launchers of different systems, heavy machine guns and small arms on the units of the Joint Forces.

“In the zone of action of tactical force ‘East’, Russian-led forces opened fire from 82mm mortars, automatic mounted grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms on Ukrainian troops near Vodiane (94km south of Donetsk); 82mm mortars and mounted antitank grenade launchers – near Pisky (11km north-west of Donetsk); 82mm mortars – in the area of Avdiivka (17km north of Donetsk); antitank missile systems, mounted antitank grenade launchers – outside Opytne (12km north-west of Donetsk); grenade launchers of different systems, heavy machine guns and small arms – in the area of Lebedynske (16km east of Mariupol); grenade launchers of different systems – near Avdiivka; mounted antitank grenade launchers and heavy machine guns – outside Verkhniotoretske (22km north-east of Donetsk); mounted antitank grenade launchers – near Kamyanka (62km south of Donetsk).

In the zone of action of tactical force “North”, the enemy used 122mm artillery systems and 82mm mortars to shell the Joint Forces units near Novotoshkivske (53km west of Luhansk); 122mm artillery systems – outside Krymske (42km north-west of Luhansk); 82mm mortars and mounted antitank grenade launchers – in the area of Zolote-4 (59km west of Luhansk); 82mm mortars, grenade launchers of different systems and heavy machine guns – near Luhanske (59km north-east of Donetsk).

One Ukrainian serviceman was killed, three more were wounded over the past day.

The Joint Forces returned fire adequately.

According to the intelligence, seven invaders were annihilated and six more were wounded on April 8.

Today, the illegal armed formations have not opened fire yet.

The Joint Forces reliably control the enemy on the contact line, adhering to the ceasefire regime.
