Ukraine’s National Guard born of Revolution of Dignity – Turchynov

The servicemen of the National Guard of Ukraine defend our state in the east as part of the Joint Forces Operation, and also discourage attempts of the enemy's agents and saboteurs to destabilize the situation inside the country.
Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov said this on the occasion of the Day of the National Guard of Ukraine, the NSDC’s press service reported.
“The National Guard was born of the Revolution of Dignity. In March 2014, when a violent and brutal enemy threatened the very existence of our country, many volunteers from Maidan went to the ranks of the newly formed National Guard to protect the country. The servicemen of the National Guard became the reliable shield of our country, among the first ones they entered into battle and stopped the Russian aggressor in the east,” he said.
