Invaders fire over 50 mortars into Ukrainian troops in Donbas

Russian occupation forces violated ceasefire seven times, using weapons banned under the Minsk agreements six times, in the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) area in eastern Ukraine over the past day.

“The enemy fired 51 82mm and 120mm mortars into Ukrainian troops. In the zone of action of tactical force ‘East’, the invaders used heavy machine guns to shell Ukrainian strongholds near Marinka (23km south-west of Donetsk),” the JFO Headquarters press center reports on Facebook.

In the zone of action of tactical force “North”, the Russian-led forces fired 120mm mortars, grenade launchers of different systems, heavy machine guns and small arms on Ukrainian defenders of Novooleksandrivka (65km west of Luhansk); 120mm and 82mm mortars – near Krymske (42km north-west of Luhansk); 82mm mortars and hand-held antitank grenade launchers – in the area of Novoluhanske (53km north-east of Donetsk); 120mm mortars, hand-held antitank grenade launchers and small arms – outside Novotoshkivske (53km west of Luhansk).

No casualties among Ukrainian troops were reported.

The Joint Forces returned fire in response to enemy’s attacks, annihilating three invaders and wounding three more.

In addition, one enemy“s tactical vehicle was destroyed by antitank missile system.

Today, invaders have already opened fire from automatic mounted grenade launchers and heavy machine guns on a Joint Forces stronghold in the area of Lebedynske (16km east of Mariupol)in the zone of action of tactical force “East.” One Ukrainian serviceman was wounded.

The Joint Forces reliably control the actions of the enemy on the contact line, adhering to the ceasefire regime.
