Ukraine has only one army, and no private armies can exist.

“The position of the President of Ukraine is absolutely clear: there have been no and will be no private armies in Ukraine,” President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said on the air of the Freedom of Speech program on the ICTV channel, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

He recalled that the oligarchs had been trying to create private troops in 2014. “Our decisive actions suppressed those attempts. The same will happen in 2019. Only the state can have such a monopoly,” the President stressed.

The Head of State noted Russia was interested in disrupting the elections in Ukraine, including in such a way. “One person is interested in disrupting the elections in Ukraine both in 2014 and in 2019: Vladimir Putin. Today, it doesn’t matter whom he uses inside the country to achieve his goal,” Poroshenko said.
