Ukraine, Turkey intend to strengthen naval cooperation in Black Sea

Ukrainian Defense Minister Stepan Poltorak and Turkish Ambassador to Ukraine Yağmur Ahmet Güldere discussed defense cooperation, in particular, its strengthening in the Black Sea region.

"During the meeting, the sides discussed the state and prospects of defense cooperation between the countries, as well as the security situation in the Black Sea region. The parties also discussed the Ukrainian-Turkish cooperation in the defense sector. The sides expressed interest in strengthening naval cooperation in the Black Sea, intensifying the military and political dialogue on regional security issues, as well as increasing the pace of defense and industrial cooperation," the press service of the Defense Ministry of Ukraine said in a report.

Poltorak noted during the meeting that the Republic of Turkey was a key strategic partner of Ukraine and had a great influence on the development of the security situation in the region.
