Russian-led forces launched nine attacks on Ukrainian troops in Donbas in last day

Russian occupation forces launched nine attacks on positions of Ukrainian troops in the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) area in eastern Ukraine over the past day.

Invaders used the weapons banned under the Minsk agreements, firing a total of 121 mortars and shells. For the first time since the beginning of the year, Russian occupation forces used 152mm artillery, the JFO Headquarters press centre reports on Facebook.

In the zone of action of tactical force “East”, Ukrainian positions came under 122mm artillery and 120mm mortar fire near Lebedynske (16km east of Mariupol) and Vodiane (94km south of Donetsk); 122mm artillery – outside Hnutove (20km north-east of Mariupol); small arms – in the area of Bohdanivka (41km south-west of Donetsk).

In the zone of action of tactical force “North”, the enemy fired 120mm mortars on Ukrainian strongholds outside Novoluhanske (53km north-east of Donetsk); 120mm mortars and heavy machine guns – near Katerynivka (64km west of Luhansk); 152mm and 122mm artillery, heavy machine guns and small arms – in the area of Novotoshkivske (53km west of Luhansk); 120mm mortars – near Krymske (42km north-west of Luhansk).

No casualties among Ukrainian troops were reported.

In addition, Russian occupation troops used 122mm artillery to fire on the village of Novoluhanske. Ten shells damaged the amenity buildings and power lines. No civilian casualties were reported.

The military personnel of the attacked units used the duty fire weapons in return.

According to the intelligence, two militants were killed and three more were wounded on March 6. One unit of enemy equipment was destroyed.

Today, the invaders have already opened fire near Krymske, using 82mm mortars. No casualties among Ukrainian troops have been reported.

The Joint Forces reliably control the enemy on the contact line, adhering to the ceasefire agreements.
