U.S. Army General Curtis Scaparrotti, Commander of the U.S. European Command does not rule out the provision of sniper systems, munitions and naval systems to Ukraine.

"There are other types of weapons [except Javelin], sniper systems, munitions, and, given the events in the Kerch Strait, the provision of systems to the Navy may be considered," Scaparrotti said during a hearing at the Senate Armed Service Committee, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

He added that the decision should undergo “political discussion” before adoption. Scaparotti noted that, in his opinion, the Ukrainian military personnel had very good training on the use of Javelin anti-tank missile systems, which had been provided last year.

"They are scrupulous about the safety and use of these weapons. We are closely following. They’ve made good work," he said.

Scaparotti added that he would recommend providing new types of weapons to Ukraine.
