Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has supported the suspension of Oleh Hladkovsky from performing the duties of first deputy secretary of the National Security and Defense Council and demanded that law enforcement agencies verify the information published by journalists regarding embezzlement in Ukraine's defense sector.

Presidential press secretary Svyatoslav Tsegolko wrote this on his Facebook page.

"Ukraine's president has supported the suspension of Oleh Hladkovsky from performing the duties of first deputy secretary of the National Security and Defense Council for the time of the investigation," Tsegolko said.

According to him, Poroshenko demanded that law enforcement agencies urgently verify the information provided in the journalist program Nashi Hroshi (Our Money) for its refutation or confirmation.

Earlier, the president's representative in the Verkhovna Rada, Iryna Lutsenko, said that the Ukroboronprom State Concern and First Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleh Hladkovsky would sue journalists of the Nashi Hroshi program who made allegations of embezzlement in the defense sector: "As far as I know, Ukroboronprom and Oleh Hladkovsky will sue the journalists so that they either apologize or provide irrefutable evidence."
