Russian-led forces fire 55 mortars into Ukrainian troops in Donbas

Russian occupation forces violated ceasefire agreements ten times, using weapons banned under the Minsk agreements seven times, in the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) area in eastern Ukraine over the past day.

“The enemy fired a total of 55 120mm and 82mm mortars into positions of Ukrainian troops. In the zone of action of tactical force ‘East’, Russian-led forces used 120mm and 82mm mortars to shell Ukrainian positions near Lebedynske (16km east of Mariupol); 120mm mortars, weapons on BMP-1 infantry fighting vehicles – in the area of Pisky (11km north-west of Donetsk); 82mm mortars, hand-held anti-tank grenade launchers and small arms – outside Vodiane (94km south of Donetsk); heavy machine guns and small arms – near Pavlopol (25km north-west of Mariupol),” the press center of the JFO Headquarters reports.

In the zone of action of tactical force ‘North’, the enemy fired 82mm mortars and heavy machine guns on Ukrainian defenders near Katerynivka (64km west of Luhansk); 82mm mortars and mounted grenade launchers of different systems – outside Troitske (69km west of Luhansk); hand-held anti-tank grenade launchers and small arms – in the area of Novoluhanske (53km north-east of Donetsk); small arms – near Stanytsia Luhanska (16km north-east of Luhansk).

One Ukrainian serviceman was wounded in shelling.

According to the intelligence, one occupant was killed and another five were wounded.

Today, the enemy has launched one attack on Ukrainian troops in the zone of action of tactical force “North”, using 120mm and 82mm mortars in the area of Katerynivka.

The Joint Forces reliably control the enemy on the contact line, adhering to the ceasefire agreements.
