Kharkiv defense enterprises received over UAH 10 bln in budget funds – Poltorak

The defense enterprises of Kharkiv city have received over UAH 10 billion in budget funds from the Defense Ministry.

Defense Minister Stepan Poltorak stated this during his visit to Kharkiv enterprises that are part of the State Enterprise Ukroboronprom.

"Over the past few years, the Defense Ministry has invested more than UAH 10 billion from the budget into Kharkiv enterprises for the purchase, modernization, development of new equipment, and about UAH 9 billion into enterprises providing the supply of armored vehicles and tanks," said Poltorak.

The minister stressed that due to the Kharkiv enterprises, the Armed Forces receive new equipment, while Kharkiv citizens receive new jobs. "The number of jobs at enterprises of the military-industrial complex in recent years has grown by 25%, wages have risen by more than 4.5 times on average at enterprises providing the supply of armored vehicles," the minister said.

Poltorak also added that the state defense order in 2018 was implemented in full, and "there will be no problems with the implementation of the state defense order in 2019".
