NATO to maintain presence in Black Sea region, continue cooperation with Ukraine

NATO maintains its presence in the Black Sea region and attaches great importance to the development of cooperation with Ukraine.

"Chiefs of Staff [of NATO countries] exchanged views on military cooperation with Ukraine and emphasized the importance of active involvement in this process. They expressed concern about Russia's actions in the Black Sea, in particular around the Sea of Azov and the Kerch Strait," Chairman of the NATO Military Committee, Air Chief Marshal Sir Stuart Peach said at the press conference following the two-day Committee’s meeting, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"Without going into the details of individual activities [of the member states], NATO continues to operate in and around the Black Sea region. NATO continues to cooperate with Ukraine, which is our neighbor and partner," the Chairman of the NATO Military Committee noted.
